Rewards signup - Delta Amex Gold Card

We recently signed up for amex gold with delta sky miles. The deal was if we spend $1000 in the first 3 months we would get 30k miles. The next day we got the same offer in an email but for 50k miles. We called to see if we could get that offer since we just applied and havent even activated the card. They said they could not honor the 50k. Well if they can help us out by honoring that we will not be giving them our business by using the card. Bad business!!!
