No response on Amex Credit card application - american express gold credit card

Applied for an Amex Gold card and only kept waiting to get one. Unfortunately, very slow and eventually no response led me to cancel my request and to my shock there was still no response. It's a big name with loads of inefficient staff to take care of customers and prospects. Very disappointing experience.
