The Worst Ever (Cannot Even Call It Customer Service) - Offers and Rewards


Can you imagine a customer "service" team so awful that they do not even have the capacity to move a check mark made 30 minutes ago to an offer from one card to the other, even with the good reason that they are closing the card with the offer linked to it due to no longer being a Costco member? Unbelievable lack of customer service, stupid scripts by phone and by chat, staff that does not even understand how offers work in the first place, (I figured it out in 10 minutes) even from a manager, that solved nothing. No where to email them, no second level Customer Care team that has the personal skills and knowledge to resolve this issue. Because they "cannot" do this, it is a loss of $75 to me because I cannot use this offer. I have been hearing for a long time that Amex customer service is the worst, now I got to experience this. Soon as I can, plan to close my other card also. And, I do not even want to shop at Smart & Final, which actual has great customer service, because it will just be a reminder of the money I will lose because they just cannot do anything about this? the store where I could have received the deal, I did email Smart and Final customer service about this. It bothers me so much to lose $75 because they did not even make it clear in the first place that I was linking this to only one card, and that the offer is then void on the other card. Stay away from Amex, and do not even waste your time calling customer service.
