Amex missing bonus points reviews - Gold Card


I was excited to get my first American Express card three months ago. However, I started having problems quickly. I recieved one gold card and one green card. The annual fee was supposed to be waived for the first year. However, with my first statements also came an annual fee assessed. When I called to ask them about it, the woman was very helpful and did fix the problem. However, I should not have to "babysit" my statements like that. The next problem came in the last few days. With no warning, my green card stopped working. This came within days of my gold card being "compromised", so I had no amex to use. Now, I have other cards as well as cash and checks, but it would be nice to be able to use the cards when you think you will be able to. So, I called to find out why my card had stopped working. The woman told me that they needed more income verification, that a hold had been put on my account, and that they would soon be reviewing whether or not to cancel the account. I have stayed within reasonable spending, pay off the balance monthly (with exception of maybe two hundred dollars of the "pay over time". On top of that, my offer included extra bonus points for charging $500 in the first three months on the green card and $1,000 on the gold card. I spoke with an advisor about this, and we were "disconnected". (I was very cordial to her) So far, the bonus points problem has not been fixed. Amex, is this really how you treat your customers?????!!!!
