  • Don't pay for this Centurion card insurance

AMEX Centurion black card free "comprehensive full" travel insurance is a hoax. My flight got cancelled because - as per all documentation - the plane broke down, I missed my hotel cancellation deadline and got charged for unused rooms on my credit card. I booked the flights with AMEX as well. AXA turns around and shrieks "well - you still went so we're not paying out". Even though I lost a day and night... No - thanks. I'm not paying for that insurance package. Plus I have a real travel insurance for my work trips already which does work! So... not... More...

  • Customer Service is Getting Bad

I've been a member of American Express since 2005 and I have both, a charge card, and a credit card. However, in the past 6 months, they must have changed their customer service agency because they seem not to be able to understand my issues when I call them. They are very slow at responding to my questions, and instead of answering my questions they provide this narrated answer, which does not make any sense. It's like they are placing the onus on me to understand how their statement is now represented, which does not reflect my rewards deductions. I'm growing so frustrated... More...

  • American Express not honouring promotion

American Express Premium Gold I applied for this card late last year and was thrilled to be approved. Amex had been known for outstanding customer service and many other benefits. I like to pay off all accounts monthly so Amex fit my needs or so I thought. The card came with an offer of 25,000 bonus points if I spent $2000 within three months. Or so they said at first. I spent that amount within a week or two and paid it off immediately. Then I started to wait for the points promised in every single promotion. Nothing. I called the number on the back of the card and the lady said within a... More...

  • Platinum card holder of 30 years.

I telephoned Amex travel services to book a hotel stay in New York City. There were a number of options and there were some specials at a few 4-star hotels, one being The London Hotel. I was currently on americanexpress.com and seeing a better rate. I was informed that I could book it online at AmericanExpress.com, which I did. I was told of all of the perks of the hotel, such as room upgrade (if available) late check-out, etc. Upon my arrival, I was told by the front desk clerk that I am not an American Express customer, but a Travelocity customer and was booked in the lowest floor... • Loyalty not returned

I've been an American Express cardholder (both personal and business) for almost 30 years. AMX has a Blue Cash Preferred Card on which they offer a $100 dollar bonus if you spend $500 dollars within the first 90 days. In diligently reading all the terms and conditions online, nowhere does it state that you are not eligable for the $100 dollars if you are a current credit card customer. But when I went to apply for the BCP card, guess what, no bonus is offered. Why doesn't it state somewhere that current customers aren't eligable for the bonus? Could it be that it would look...
