    I called the rewards number that I was given from a customer service rep. at A/X and when I called the lady put me on hold for 29 min. After I asked to speak to a supervisor because I was given wrong info regarding my rewards on me card. I have racked up 23000 pints and wanted to transfer to my sky miles acct. she said I could not, I explained to her that I was told differently from the A/X customer service rep.     Removed my Reward Points I have been a member of American Express since 1981. I fell into some financial difficulty, and did not realize I was in danger of my Platinum Card being cancelled. It was cancelled in January of this year because of an inter collection process. I paid the balance in full, at one point totalling over 60,000.00.     I have been a customer of American Express for several years. Up to this point I have had no issues with their service. American Express has been no better or worse than the other services I use.     On the 21st of January I took a work lunch break to go and buy my wife her 30th present for the amount of $2,500 and at POS the transaction was declined. A second attempt was made as I am well aware of my account balance and it was also declined.     Last month I applied for an American Express card through CostCo. I have a six figure income and a FICO score of 820. I have multiple credit cards, all with virtually no balances, each paid monthly. I get invitations from Am Ex almost monthly to apply for a card. Application should be a breeze. Nope, nada.   • In one Day - 27 charges that were not ours

    We have regular AMEX cards and have had no problems. We got Prepaid AMEX card for travel. We were checking our account November 10th and was shocked that it was minus $20.64 and not the $2500 we put in this summer.     American Express may think they are an elite credit card company but their customer service and care of their consumers is the worst. I have been a member since 1987 and most of that time, until recently, was a satisfied customer.   • Rewards signup

    We recently signed up for amex gold with delta sky miles. The deal was if we spend $1000 in the first 3 months we would get 30k miles. The next day we got the same offer in an email but for 50k miles. We called to see if we could get that offer since we just applied and havent even activated the card.     i have cancelled my attempts to apply for an american express blue everyday card when i encountered inept customer service from an offshore call center. the several calls i made were conducted with what seemed to be persons to whom english was not a first language. i think a company that calls itself "american" express would use offshore call centers. whatever money they save in lower labor costs be damned.. i will never own an american express card after my totally frustrating and annoying experiences with their foreign call centers.     A representative within the cancellation department misinterpreted a conversation in which the phone line was disconnected prior to the end of the call. After that call, I was surprised to find my account closed the next day. I immediately called to have my account reinstated.     i just spent 2 hours with americam express support team (JAMIE) helped me. I had a simple question when you pay a bill online there is an option MEMO TO PAYEE i put information in the memo area needed for the bill to be processed as the account number was not enough.     I have been making my payment on the last day of the month for more than a year now, which makes it early. I always pay more than required and frequently pay my balance in full.     Member since 99 and have watched the company go downhill lately. Just cancelled my Delta Airlines Platnum card. Straw that broke the camel's back was AmEx's refusal to acknowledge an airline ticket purchase on 12/31/13 towards my 2013 spend limit.     I hold American Express credit card and I must say that I have suffered losses twice because of very poor service by them.     After being a customer for over 19 years, I cancelled my American Express Card. I mailed a check on the 14th of the month....they claim not to have received it until the 18th...payment was due on the 16th...I asked that the late fee be waived...they refused, I paid the balance, and called back to speak to another representative who informed me that I had already spoken to two other representatives and that they would not waive the fee.     After 14 years of being a loyal customer, paying on time, I requested to waive the late fee as I was less than 24 hours late as well as the interest fee, since I always spend a lot of money every month with American Express.     I've been an American Express customer for almost 14 years and have paid like clockwork.     Back in 2010, I applied for the AMEX Platinum Delta Skymiles card. Delta is my preferred airline and the benefits to coupling the two was a no brainer. I spend $3000 in 90 days and I get a bunch of Qualifying Miles on Delta. I applied online the 3rd week of October and was immediately approved for an $8600 line.     I was out on disability for 2 months and was unable to keep up with my American Express card payment. I have received over 100 robocalls from 15 different phone numbers, 3 certified letters and numerous other threats and have had my card canceled.     Hello, I recently applied for an American Express and got approved. When I received the card with the conditions, not only were very different as stated in their website, but they also gave a very low credit limit.     This is a different form of complaint. I applied for a position with AMEX in the UK. They were not prepared to conduct a formal interview made derogatory statements about their language departments and towards me being an American.     I ve bought a ticket thru American Express Travel using AMEX credit card, I had to cancel trip because of paperwork issues so I was unable to travel. Ticket was paid 1590 $ while the same ticket on cheapoair was 1290$, the reason why I paid extra 300 $ thru amex is so I can be protected in case of emergency but obviously we are not protected as members.     My issue with AMEX credit card is the sneaky billing system-or the sneaky way AMEX presents its data. It seems that they rely entirely on billing cycles and do not show a register of charges and payments in real time sequence.
