Accounts put on hold before getting calcel.

Amex put my three business cards on hold and told me they will be cancelled if I do not provide some banking information from my bank accounts. I had these cards an average of 9 years, I have made all my payments on time. I used one on my cards to buy some product in my store and this set up a red flag that caused all of these headaches. I ask AMEX to calcel all my accounts with them and never to contact me again.

1-800 Customer Service NOT LOCATED IN US!

Every single time I contact Customer Service I am connected to some in India, Pakistan, Middle East, everywhere except the USofA! I always have to ask to speak with someone in the US! THIS is unacceptable.
I am a citizen in the US, buy my products and pay my payments in the US FROM MY US CREDIT UNION and should be able to KNOW whomever I am speaking with (from my Merchant) their service people are getting paid to do their jobs in AMERICA! American citizens need to step up and be heard for if we keep allowing other countries to take over our jobs there will be nothing left here in America...

2 years in a row they don't send me my reqwards check

This is the 2nd year in a row that Amex said they mailed my rewards refund that I have yet to recieve. Same Pattern every year, I stop getting paper statements in December even though I am signed up for them and I never get my Check. Then I mysteriously start getting paper statements again after the period they say they will cut the checks and tell me i am no longer eligable. They say its now on my March statement, which I have yet to see. If it does not come next week, I will cancel the card and never again use Amex. I have been a card holder since the 80"s I received a letter from American Express just before Christmas thanking me for being a good customer and that they were increasing my limit. On average I spend nearly 10 thousand pounds on my card every year. So I am a good customer. They have lost so much control wigth customer service ... think they just dont care anymore. Too much to fix and too many complaints.

I am talking about AMEX in the UK - I have been a member since 1989 and have seen the service gradually go down. Today I dont think anyone should get a AMEX card in the UK.
Honestly you will regret it. Learn from someone that has been a customer for over twenty years.
Maybe its differnet in the US - the UK AMEX has lost control of customer services. Too many complaints and they know its too much to fix.

Misbehaviour at American Express Agency

I was shocked to see the behaviour of people representing a american express travel agency in MGF Megacity Mall, Gurgaon, Haryana INDIA.
They were so rude that were not interested in attending a customer and behaved very rudely to sent me back from there office. It was so rude that i will never again go to an Amex travel agent nor refer anyone in future.
Shame for such a big company to keep such people as their representative.

I was going to write a review about AMEX violating my FCRA Rights, but it looks like there are so many complaints about AMEX, that one more in a 1,000,000 is not going to make a difference. AMEX sent me a survey online and as soon as you answer the first question about AMEX. If it is not a good score for them, the survey terminates. I guess you have to cover up bad customer service any way you can. They need to send those jobs to India, because they do a much better job and for peanuts on top of that!

I have been working with American Express to get a refund on my credit balance and due to incompetence in the customer service department, I still do not have my refund and the account has been closed for 6 months. Two refunds checks have been mailed, but they keep sending them to an old address after repeatedly giving them my correct address. My credit card account was closed in January 2011. I sent a request in for my credit balance of $1,032.12 in March. The AMEX customer service rep said wait and the check will come in a couple of weeks. They verified my adress, which was already on the account, and said it would be processed. Another great example of a company that has lost track of who the customer is. I had a simple $38.00 charge on my corporate AMEX card that did not get paid via auto payment that took from January to May to resolve with AMEX.
AMEX took weeks to respond to issues while the fees built up from the original $38.00 to $180.00.

I purchased a new teen Amex passcard because of the promotion you had going. I put $25 on the card and waited for the $25 bonus which I did not receive.
I called today and talked to Sharon in India who refused to transfer me to someone in the US. After many requests I asked her name or id number which she gave me as Sharon. I told her I would call my self.

I have only had an American Express a few months and have never charged anything on it. Lat month I had a $39.95 charge for Home & Leisure Magazine that I did not order. I called and they took it off my account. I just received a new statment and I now have a charge of $89.95 on there "AEPC Member Services". I recently purchased three AE gift cards in the amounts of $100, $100, and $50 for my mom and dad's birthday anniversary. The $50 card, wouldn't work. When I contacted AE, an individual stated the card had never been activated (wrong). As a result, I gave them the number on the card, the seca copy of the front security code and mailed a copy of the receipt. On 28 Feb 2011,AE called for a copy of back/front of the card. I have been an AMEX member since 1988. Last summer I used some points for Express Rewards Hotels prepaid cards. I used all but one and just tried to redeem its Feb 13th. My son bought american travellers cheques for a trip to Tanzania. He is from South Africa. There his cheques were stolen and he phoned me immediately (he calles collect because at that stage he was very short on money) and I immediately reported it.

Its more then just making a profit for AMEX. Its all about greed. I have been a member since 1989. In 21 one years never been late on a payment. I have three different cards with them. I received my October statement and notice my interest rate had been raised almost 4%. I called AMEX. They advsied me they had sent out a mailing in May to all of their clients giving them the opportunity to opt out of the rate increase. I never received that mailing so never had the chance to respond.
Who in their right mind would not have returned that mailer?

I got 2 AmeX cards because I wanted to get cash back rewards. However, they will give you a card and promise rewards but once you post a large charge onto your account to get rewards they will harass you to send them your TAX INFO!!!!! WTF? In just two months, AMEX screwed my score from 758 to 673.
If you don't they will cancel all your account EVEN THOU IF YOU SPENT JUST 50% WITHIN YOUR LIMITS!!!!!
This company is untrustworthy and will ruin your credit score in an eye blink. Stay away from BAIT n SWICH CROOKS.
